Online Dating Email Tips
A lot of guys get started in the world of online dating to meet some great women that they otherwise would never have met. I mean where else can you basically just check a few boxes and literally find your 100% perfect girl? But the internet isn’t really easy for most men unless they know a few online dating email tips.
Online Dating Email Tips – Understanding the Cyber Landscape
You have to understand that as a man, things are going to be heavily at your disadvantage at first with online dating. Women get literally hundreds of emails sent to them on a daily basis. Most of these emails are cookie cutter emails with boring subject lines like “Hello” or “Hey” that some guy just blasted out to a thousand women. Unless you know how to stand out, chances are good that the woman isn’t even reading your emails at all!
How to Stand Out – Put in the Extra Effort
This may seem obvious, but one of the best online dating email tips I can give you is to actually read the woman’s profile. Take the time to see her as an actual person and find something in common that you can connect to her on. Otherwise you run the risk of coming off as a slimy guy that just sees her as a physical object.
But the most important part is to let her know right away that you read her profile. Put some detail that she wrote down in your subject line. For example, if she wrote about how she recently read a really good book and she got so into it that she was literally talking to the book, then make your subject line something like “Talk to Any Good Books Lately?” Instantly this makes you stand out from the ocean of “Hey” and “Hello” emails and it lets her know that you took the time to read her profile.

Online Dating Email Tips to Make Her Write Back
Now, assuming a woman actually opens the average guy’s email, what does she see? Probably something lame like “Hey you looked nice. Write me back and let’s talk.” This just screams that you blasted the same copy-and-paste message out to half the women out there. Either that or she’ll find pages and pages of text explaining your whole life story. This is bad too. Think about it. She hasn’t even met you yet! Why would she want to know that you wet the bed until you were ten years old?
Instead write something specific to her that is short and funny if possible. For example, I once saw a girl whose profile picture was her holding two Starbucks coffee cups. I wrote “Hey, I’m guessing by your photo that you must REALLY like coffee.” And that was it. She wrote me back and we had some fun dates over the next few months.
After you get her to email you then you can just start a normal email conversation and just take things as you feel right, but please, use these online dating email tips for the first email so you can get her attention and actually hook her into writing you back.
