What To Say On a First Date

What to say to womenOkay, you got the date! Way to go man! But what are you going to say when you go out with her so that you don’t blow it? Let’s go over some ground rules so that you’ll know exactly what to say on a first date.

First things first. When you pick what you’re going to do on the date, make sure it’s something that lends itself well to having a conversation. This means that things like seeing a movie are ruled out. Remember, the point of the first date is to get a chance to know the girl, and the only way to do that is to have a conversation with her.

Generally things like going out for coffee, or hanging out in a park tend to work the best. These are very relaxed and don’t put a lot of pressure on either of you in a way that more “traditional date” activities like a romantic dinner might.

Okay, so now that is all taken care of, let’s talk about what to say on a first date.

Remember that the aim of the first date is to get to know the girl better. You want to ask her questions to find out what kind of person she is. Of course you want to do this in a natural and casual way.

What you don’t want to do is ask her a bunch of stupid “date questions.” These are questions that you obviously memorized before you you met up with her. These might be questions like “If you were an ice cream flavor which one would you be?” or “If you were trapped on a desert island, what 5 books would you bring?”

No one talks like this in real life, and you shouldn’t on a first date either.

Instead, just bring a genuine sense of curiosity with you when you meet her. Ask her simple questions that have the potential to lead to other topics and conversations. Simple things like “How is your day going?” or “What did you do last weekend?” are fine.

She will answer each question, and as she does be on the lookout for little things that she mentions and ask her more about those. If she says she’s had a stressful day because of work, ask her what she does for a living, for example.

If you want to know what to say on a first date, remember that you can’t go wrong with honest questions. Take the time to get to know her as a person. Learn what she wants out of life and what brings her joy. This will tell you so much more about her than knowing what kind of ice cream flavor she sees herself as.

So that’s what to say on a first date. Remember to take things lightly. I know you want to make a good impression, but don’t forget that the point of dating is to have fun getting to know each other, not to stress out and worrying about “doing it right.”
